# Roomza Hotel-Room Interior Taxonomy v1

The Roomza taxonomy targets a labeling regime that the three dominant indoor-scene taxonomies under-serve: the furnished, single-occupancy hotel guestroom. NYUv2-40 and ScanNet-20 were drawn from residential and small-office scans; ARKitScenes-17 restricts itself to room-defining furniture and explicitly excludes wall-mounted, soft, and small-form-factor objects. Hospitality perception requires a finer grain on bedside furniture, bathroom fixtures, and operator-installed hardware (minibar, in-room safe, luggage rack, robe hook, hairdryer mount) while collapsing residential clutter classes (clothes, books, paper, person, box) that do not generalize across rooms cleaned to a standard. The 41 classes below are organized into six semantic groups and crosswalked one-to-one against NYUv2-40, ScanNet-20, and ARKitScenes-17; a `null` crosswalk marks a class that has no equivalent in the reference set and is therefore Roomza-distinctive.

## Distinctive to hospitality

The following Roomza classes have no equivalent in NYUv2-40, ScanNet-20, or ARKitScenes-17, and constitute the dataset's core differentiation for furnished-room perception:

- headboard
- bed_runner
- bench_at_foot
- luggage_rack
- bidet
- shower_enclosure
- towel_rack
- toilet_paper_holder
- hairdryer_mount
- in_room_safe
- thermostat_panel
- robe_hook
- tv_credenza

These thirteen classes are concentrated in three zones the reference taxonomies systematically under-label: the bed assembly (headboard, bed_runner, bench_at_foot), the bathroom hardware layer (bidet, shower_enclosure, towel_rack, toilet_paper_holder, hairdryer_mount, robe_hook), and operator-installed in-room infrastructure (luggage_rack, in_room_safe, thermostat_panel, tv_credenza). A perception model trained on Roomza labels can resolve these objects at production grain; a model trained on NYU40, ScanNet-20, or ARKitScenes-17 cannot.
